We began growing fruit on the shore of Lake Erie in 1984. Our farm was settled in 1794 by the first arrivals from Europe, and our farmhouse still contains the original log cabin. Over the years, we expanded with new crops, two other orchards, four daughters, built “The Fruit Wagon” for our roadside sales, a greenhouse, and more recently built a larger barn and cooler to replace our older ones.
Peaches and apples were our first crops. Now we are produce seven kinds of tree fruits, including apricots, sweet cherries, peaches, pears, apples, Japanese and European plums. We grow greenhouse and field raspberries for a 6 month harvest. We also grow beautiful gladioli all summer, and mums
and pumpkins for fall colours. Our recent additions include fresh vegetables.
Our goal is produce the high quality fruit, vegetables and flowers that our customers appreciate. We hope you visit The Fruit Wagon often, and enjoy the
“fruits” of our efforts.
The Fruit Wagon is stop # 22 for Explore the Shore 2011 and can be found at 793 County Road 50 East.
